Tyro Down

27-Jul-17 - Tyro POS Integration is currently down, which means that Tyro and Medilink won't work at the moment. Tyro are looking in to the problem and will fix asap. More info here: https://status.tyro.com
Update: Tyro have said the problem is fixed. You may have to restart your EFTPOS terminals and Medilink.

July Fee Update

12-Jul-17 - The July MBS & DVA Fee Update is now available to download for MDS subscribers. Virus Information

29-Jun-17 - A recent ransomware cyber attack has been hitting businesses globally. The attack is an important reminder that we all need to ensure we are well protected against such threats. Please contact your IT provider if you have any queries/concerns regarding your antivirus security.

Easyclaim Bulk Bill Payment Issues

13-Jun-17 - Medicare have notified us today that they had an issue with Easyclaim Bulk Bill claims (Tyro or Hicaps devices) transmitted last week (any time between 2nd - 9th June 2017), which resulted in payments being withheld. Update: It is now resolved and payments have been released. For further details please contact Medicare E-Business.

Java

19-May-17 - We have had multiple reports of Medicare Online issues of late, which have turned out to be Java 6 problems. Java 6 is an older version, but Medicare require it specifically. To fix you may have to remove other Java 6 installs and then reinstall Java 6 (we ship an installer here: c:\medilink32bnt\MedilinkUpdate\jre-6u26-windows-i586-s.exe).

Medicare Down

17-May-17 - Medicare is experiencing a degradation of service this afternoon. If you have problems submitting Medicare Online claims please use the Forward option later today/tomorrow. Interactive Patient claims will be automatically stored in these cases. Easyclaim users may also be affected as these claims cannot be stored, users of this system may have to provide paper receipts and/or use Medicare Online.
Update: Medicare is back up and running as usual.

Cyber Security

15-May-17 - You may have seen the recent spate of cyber extortion attacks that have been in the media. Now would be a good time to check with your general IT provider to ensure you have adequate backup and anti-virus solutions in place. Staff should be reminded to be extra careful with regards opening email attachements. If you are infected with this virus, call your general IT provider immediately to restore backups (we can not help you with this matter).

Kaspersky vs Medicare

11-May-17 - A number of practices using Kaspersky A/V have had their Java 6 installations removed. Medicare require this version of Java specifically - without it, Medicare Online won't work. We are enquiring with Kaspersky about the issue. Java 6 can be re-installed via: c:\medilink32bnt\medilinkupdate\jre-6u26-windows-i586-s.exe
Update: WebRoot may also be affected by this.

14-Dec-16 - You may have received a letter and disk from Medicare recently. They have mass sent these to users of their HPOS system as it is changing. These are individual provider certificates and are not used for Medilink or Medicare Online purposes. They have instructions with the letter and disk, but you should contact Medicare for further instructions on how to install these certificates.

July Fees

30-Jun-16 - July fees are available. Paid up MDS members should click here for instructions and more info. Update 18th July: Some funds have released July 2016 fees but DVA and other funds have not. If you update your fees again they will be on the latest version available.

FTP

28-Sep-16 - We are currently experiencing difficulties with our FTP system. This affects our ability to provide Medilink Updates, Fee Updates, and MIMS Updates, but does not affect day-to-day usage of Medilink. We are working with our web host provider to resolve the matter. Update: Now resolved.

Medibank Private

11-Jul-16 - If you are having problems with Medibank Private patients changing to Medibank Private Overseas Students click here for workaround instructions and more info.

Trend Micro

22-Jun-16 - A number of users who have Trend Micro are having issues with Medilink not running. Trend Micro is quarantining the C:\WINDOWS\WIN.INI file restoring this file should fix the problem.

ATO Software

09-Jun-16 - The ATO software installer may update Java 8 and remove the older version of Java 6 that Medicare require. It can be re-installed via: c:\medilink32bnt\medilinkupdate\jre-6u26-windows-i586-s.exe

Eclipse

02-Jun-16 - A few practices have reported that their ECLIPSE claims are taking longer than normal to progress to COMPLETE status. We have contacted Medicare and apparently they have had some issues and they will eventually process, however we/they can't give details on individual claims.

MDS 2016 R2

01-Jun-16 - Important To remain compliant with Medicare all sites MUST update to 2016 R2, please pay your update/support fees now to ensure trouble free claiming with Medicare. Fee Update

01-Apr-16 - GMHBA have joined the AHSA scheme. Victorian ECLIPSE users should finalise in-hopsital billing to March 31st, and then run Fee Update. Other users are unaffected. The next major fee update is on July 1st.

03-Mar-16 - IntelliSMS are experiencing an issue with their servers. They are now working on fixing it ASAP.

12-Feb-16 - Medicare have notified that their claiming services were unavailable earlier today, for about 15 minutes. You may have had failed transmissions during this time which should have been stored for later transmission please forward them later today. 2016 R1 Delay

03-Sep-15 - As reported last week, the 9201 error when forwarding is back. If you have this problem you must fix punctuation errors in patient names, unbatch/reverse patients claims, and re-batch/re-submit claims. Updating to Medilink 2015 will stop the issue from arising. 29-Aug-15 - Medicare have re-enabled their punctuation checking on patient names. If you have not updated to Medilink 2015 and you have punctuation in names you will get 9201 errors when forwarding, and must fix the names then unbatch/rebatch or reverse & rebill patient claims. Windows 10

28-Jul-15 - You may be considering updating to Windows 10. Our testing of the preview versions of Windows 10 has been successful, but we are withholding official endorsement pending testing of a retail version. Additionally you should discuss with your general IT support provider and third party software vendors regards their advice.

Virus Warning � Important Notice

22-Jul-15 - We have noticed a recent spate of practices infected with a very serious VIRUS. The difference is a RANSOM is demanded, the virus is called CryptoWall. News media has had warnings of its existence for a few months now. Please discuss this security risk with your IT support people to first ensure your back-up is operational, anti-virus is up to date, and your practice is suitably protected.

Fee Import

2027 Error

03-Jul-15 - Medicare have advised us at 12:55 that they have had a problem overnight and the payment and processing reports for bulk bill batches assessed & paid are currently not available (error 2027 report not available). They are working on a fix; you should be able to receive these reports on Monday.

Medilink Outage

02-Jul-15 - Our head office in Brisbane was unavailable this afternoon due to an unforeseen outage. This has affected our ability to answer support enquiries, and the Medilink & Fee Updates system would not have worked as intended. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Medicare Java Issue

02-Jul-15 - Be aware that installing ATO software may require a Java update to v8, which in turn may automatically remove the version of Java that Medicare Online requires (v6). This can be re-installed by running C:\Medilink32bnt\MedilinkUpdate\jre-6u26-windows-i586-s.exe and rebooting your PC (you only need to do this on affected PCs). If you continue to have issues please contact support.

Tyro/Easyclaim Issues

23-Jun-15 - We're getting reports from clients that Tyro and/or Easyclaim is having network issues. UPDATE: Tyro have notified that there was an outage on the 23rd but this is now fixed. If you continue to have Network Errors on your Tyro terminal please contact Tyro on 1300 966 639

9201 Error

19-Jun-15 - We now have confirmation that from 18:00 EST today (Friday), Medicare will revert their patient name validation to how they were last week, to stop this 9201 problem when submitting claims. This means if you are getting these errors, but don't want to manually fix the punctuation in names and can wait over the weekend, then you should be able to forward them after today without errors.

Processing Report

16-Jun-15 - You may be getting very long batch processing reports. This is due to a change by Medicare over the weekend. More information and a temporary fix is here: http://www.medilink.com.au/processingreport.php

9201 Error

16-Jun-15 - We're getting quite a few reports of 9201 errors when forwarding your batches. This is due to a change by Medicare over the weekend. It can be fixed by removing punctuation from patient names (hypens and apostrophes are ok though), unbatching and then rebatching. Double Up Bulk Billing

16-Jun-15 - A few of practices have raised this issue in the last 12 months and we have gotten to the bottom of the problem. Essentially if you click the OK button multiple times in the bulk billing screen it keeps saving more and more away. We suspect users might be doing this if printing the first bulk bill is taking a little while. We will stop this from happening in a future release but for now please be patient and ensure you press OK only once.

Avg Users

09-Jun-15 - If you use AVG you might be getting a warning about the Hicaps installer that we ship with Medilink. We are discussing it with Hicaps & AVG at this point we believe it is a false positive warning. If you are concerned please choose the quarantine option it won�t affect your day to day use of Medilink. Please contact your IT support/department or email support@medilink.com.au if you have any questions.

Windows 10

02-Jun-15 - You may be getting notifications about a Windows 10 upgrade in your taskbar area. We have tested Medilink on the technical preview versions of Windows 10 and all has been fine and don't foresee any incompatibilities but at this stage we cannot guarantee that the Windows 10 release version.

05-Mar-15 - If you are getting Medicare Online errors that talk about a Dialog Hiding Behind, look for a flashing Medilink icon in your taskbar you may need to sign back in to Medicare Online using your passphrase.

Java Removed

04-Feb-15 - We have had a few reports of Medicare Online not functioning today and on closer inspection it would seem that quite a few clients have had their Java 6 removed. We don't know what is removing it. Java 6 can be re-installed via C:\Medilink32bnt\MedilinkUpdate\jre-6u26-windows-i586-s.exe (you must have admin user permissions to do this).

Eclipse Receipt Issue

20-Jan-15 - Clients experiencing problems with IMC receipts being duplicated or applying to wrong items, should contact support@medilink.com.au there is a fix being made available this week.

Gp Fee Changes

15-Jan-15 - The Government have announced that the planned changes to GP consultations will not proceed.

1800 Down

15-Jan-15 - Our 1800 answering service provider, Vodafone, was down from mid night. As our 1300 number rolls onto this service when busy, some calls were not getting through to us. Gp Fee Changes

14-Jan-15 - The upcoming GP fee changes mean that short consults (under 10 mins) should be billed as Level A i.e. item 3 instead of item 23. GP practices should re-run the Fee Update from the Medilink Launcher.

Dva/Bupa/Mpl Rejections

09-Jan-15 - We have a fix available for this problem. If you are affected please install the latest Medilink update, and then rebill those claims. If you have questions please contact: support@medilink.com.au

Dva/Bupa/Mpl Rejections

08-Jan-15 - If DVA or BUPA/MPL are rejecting your claims due to the payee/principal provider number not being the same as the servicing provider number, you need to reconfigure your payee provider numbers accordingly and resubmit those claims. We are creating a workaround for this problem and will have another update with the fix by next week.

Medicare Down

24-Dec-14 - As many of you have noticed, the Medicare Online servers are currently down. This also affects Easyclaim and ECLIPSE. This follows a fortnight of intermittent issues. Medicare are looking in to the problem. Please note that patient claims should be stored for later transmission when you are prompted to do so.

Patient Claims

19-Dec-14 - If you would like to disable Real Time (Interactive) Patient Claims, go to Accounting Screen -> Links Menu -> Configure Online Claiming, and untick Interactive Patient Claims, then restart Medilink. You must do this on all computers that raise billing.

Patient Claims

17-Dec-14 - Please be aware that in the new version of Medicare Online, patient claims are being sent 'interactively' (on the spot) by default. You may be asked if you want to submit claims for later assessment, in most cases we suggest YES (but please read the message that Medicare returns). Patient claims that are submitted in error can be fixed after transmission via the Online Menu->Same Day Delete.

Medicare Online

16-Dec-14 - As you may have noticed, Medicare Online has been down/slow for over a day now (this also affects Easyclaim/ECLIPSE). The MSIA is asking Medicare for more information regards this as the problem seems to be ongoing. If you have issues transmitting claims, please store and forward them later where appropriate, or simply re-raise the claims at a later time.

16-Dec-14 - Please be aware that an extremely large volume of support calls are coming through our offices (due to the update) and you may not get through to us directly. We are prioritising urgent support at this stage, but will get back to you as soon as possible. In some cases it may be better for you to put non-urgent support queries in email format, as they can be answered after hours.

Eclipse Reporting

02-May-13 - Medicare have announced they have had a problem with IMC reporting since the 28th of April, (this week). You may find that claims do not receipt or remain outstanding on IMC reports. We are working on a retrospective fix for the reporting issue and will keep you posted.

Pip Hi Numbers

2013 - A lot of GPs are enquiring about the Feb 1st PIP deadline and the requirement to have HI numbers in their software system. GPs should contact their clinical software provider regarding this, as it is a clinical identifier not directly related to or required for practice management. We will be building HI number functionality for our practice management system and EHR in the near future.

Grand United Health

2012 - We have had some queries about Grand United Health. To add them, click 'File'->'Change Details'->'Edit Lists', and click on the 'Cover/Funds' from the drop-down and add their code 'FAI'. We have no-gap fees for them as part of the AHSA fee scheme. They are not in the ECLIPSE billing list.

2012 - Medilink is fully compatible with Windows 8 PC editions. Please read more here.

Medicare Online

2012 - Medicare recently performed a variety of updates which have and/or continue to distrupt usage. Please check the status of Medicare Online here. Additionally users have experienced issues with PVVs and are getting 611 errors for batches. Medicare claims that the PVV issue is resolved, but anyone getting 611 rejections should rebill and resubmit batches.

2012 - Medicare has advised of a problem with the self-deemed code on IMCs not being visible to service operators, which is causing rejetions. Users who submit self-deemed claims should add 'Self Determined' to the front of service text.

Bupa Fund

2011 - BUPA is now a fund for Medicare verification/billing purposes. Please refer to our guide here for adding 'BUP' as a fund in to Medilink.

2011 Fees

2011 - The 2011 fees have been released, although we are still waiting on some of the funds to release their fees. VIPS members can log in on the left for the links and an instructional video, (you can find your login information in Medilink under 'Help'->'About').

Westfund Code

2011 - Westfund have changed their Medicare recognised code from WDH to WFD. Please update your 'Get Participating Funds' list, your fund codes list, and remember to change the three letter code for Westfund patients before verifying/billing.

Hcf/Mui Merger

2011 - HCF and Manchester Unity are undergoing the final stages of their merger. ECLIPSE IMC users please be aware that MUI claims must be in by June 30th 2011. If not you must submit MUI claims under HCF from July 11th 2011, (you will not be able to submit MUI claims for the 10 day interim).

Mcol 3009/9204 Errors

2011 - As of April 23rd 2011, Medicare's CEO certificates have expired. Step 1 of the automated system in place to deal with this has a link to a Medicare PKI Certificate manager; unfortunately this link location is no longer active. Medilink Direct Support
