Windows 7 Compatibility

Our Medilink software program itself is Windows 7 compatible.

However, please note, Medicare Australia has not yet officially certified their Online Claiming system for this Operating System. Our experience, with other clients use and our own in-house testing, suggests that there is no issues that can be attributed to Windows 7.

Apart from the above there are some minor aspects that could be helpful to be aware of. The first being that UAC needs to be disabled. Additionally there are two versions of Windows 7 - i.e. a 32bit & a 64bit version. Generally you will have less compatibility issues with the 32 bit version then the new 64 bit system. IF you are installing Medilink on a 64bit version there are also other known issues should you intend to install Medicare's Online Claiming component - whereby there are two Program Files folders within this version and as a consequence manual intervention needs to happen after the install to ensure that the relative components required are installed in the correct location.

Should you decide to install the Medicare Online component on your new PC (If you decide on a 64bit version of Win 7) it would be a good idea to contact us well beforehand to ensure all goes to plan.

* Please note, the 'manual duplication' referred to is no longer necessary.
